VENDOR SPOTLIGHT! Hui No'eau Visual Art Center

When planning a wedding on Maui, the first spot that always comes to a destination brides mind is ocean front estates, hotels, or beach wedding. While Bella Grace Flowers loves nothing more than working ocean front (how lucky are we?) we want to showcase another "Upcountry" option.

Let us introduce you to the Hui No'eau Visual Art Center, or in short, the "Hui". The Hui has been a staple in Maui's arts and cultural development for decades. The main house, Kalanui Estate is close to 100 years old. The property is 25 acres, of nothing but mature Cook Island pines, jacaranda, palm and avocado trees, dramatic architecture, scenic views and a sort of upcountry peacefulness. Think elegant country! Check out my pinterst page for floral inspiration, www.pinterst.com/bellagracemaui.

If you are interested in taking a stroll of the Hui, it's located right off of Baldwin Avenue, Makawao. Here is a link to their website for more information www.huinoeau.com.

It's Been A Rainy Day!

While we live on an island that is draped in bright sunshine, blue water, vibrant rainbows, and warm day's year round- we do get the occasional winter rain storm. When it happens, it's super refreshing- you can actually see the island turn greener. So, what does this have to do with flowers? Well, have you seen the amazing floral wellies this season? From Van Heusen to Channel, it's all about the floral prints! If you have to be out in the rain, might as well accessorize!

Oh, want to do a trash the dress shoot? These boots might be a cute, and fun option for footwear..

All the craze right now is Pinterest! Lingo: "Follow my board" , "Pin Me", "Pinterest it"... it's a wonderful environment of creative, crafty and talented people who are inspiring the world through social media- OH and inspiration boards. If you are a new bride, this is such a great place to gather your vision, search out idea's, and share them with those who are interested.

Here's how it works:

1. You decide you want a rustic wedding with tropical flowers (see images below from an Olowalu Plantation House wedding- feel free to pin them).
2. You do a pinterest search, and come up with a zillion ideas (literally).
3. You create your own pinterest board (go to add in the upper left hand corner of pinterest, and click- create a board )
4. Name your board, and share it with your admirers
5. Locate all your photo's and starting pinning. A list will be provided after each pin to which board you would like to pin to. Easy!
