Preeya & Pramod's Wedding in Maui, Hawaii June 23-25, 2011.

Here's one of our most beautiful, exciting and exotic weddings we've ever had the opportunity to film. We were honoured when Preeya and Promod chose Marrone to film their wedding, allowing us to experience an event like no other we've seen.

This clip is exactly the way it was shown the night of their reception. A cinematic montage including 4 days of Maui footage, as well as a session we had with them when they flew to Montreal last year. Locations primarily include the Grand Wailea Resort, Four Seasons Maui and surrounding areas.

As we did last time we were in Maui, we drove up to the top of Haleakala peak, 10,000 feet high, to shoot the details above the clouds. It was literally breath taking!

I was really nervous about doing a Same Day Edit of this magnitude on a destination wedding, but thanks to strategic filming and continuous capturing and encoding, we actually finalized it by mid-afternoon, only adding the reception entrance one hour before show time!

I want to thank my team (Anthony and Johnny) putting in so much hard work, and to the perfect bride and groom who were willing to do anything we asked them to do!

A more detailed description will be posted soon ...

Holland & Justin Durango, Colorado

Late this past September I had the pleasure of working with some amazing talent. We all came from many different states and descended upon Durango, Colorado to work on what we coined "WeddingPalooza" basically it was 5 weddings in a short 5 day period! I was a ton of work but also an amazing time with girlfriends I haven't seen in many years.

Above are a few shots from one of my favorite weddings that we worked on. There was no detail left unturned at this event. Down to the custom copper wishing fountain or the 4 custom floral panels behind the lemonade stand. Oh and my personal favorite 5 custom orchid chandeliers LOVE them!!! Thanks April for getting us all back together!

Love & Aloha,
MG

The lovely White Peony has it's place in every wedding but here at the Haiku Mill these fluffy little things just fit right in. Nothing says Shabby Chic like a Peony in a Mason Jar!

I think I have said this a time or two but once again I could live inside the mill forever. I just love it there.

Beautiful Pink Peony bouquet for the bride and clean White Peonies waiting for the bridal party in the gorgeous Haiku Mill Bridal Suite.

Aloha,
BGF

Designing for the Designer

Since it's a lazy Monday at our house and the wedding we worked on this past weekend has yet to upload the photo's themselves on my computer. I thought I would share with you an oldie but goody!

Yes, this wedding was from long ago but the bride just handed over some of these beautiful images (thanks, Jessica).

Over the years we have had the opportunity to do some really unique wedding and events for friends and family. We love to do this it truly is an honor!

Designing a wedding with a couple is really a reflection of what they love, who they love and most importantly the love that made them a couple. This is what the details of a wedding is all about!

Working with Jessica I will admit was a bit daunting! For all of you that know her and her design talents you know what I mean! On most days you can find her in her fabulous studio Design Savvy Maui hard at work creating the wonderful details inside a clients home.

Jessica gave me wonderful direction (ha ha) and I quote " let's go with white and you do whatever... I trust you!" As you can imagine most of my sleepless nights at this time I can blame on her!

As you can see the day was nothing less than beautiful (thank you team BGF) just like the bride! All the thanks and more I received when she walked into the tent amongst the million of candles and quietly she said to herself "Oh My god" and looked at me and smiled and said "thank you!" It was an honor to be a part of the McLellan history!

Love & Aloha,

MG

Vintage Hawaiian

With vintage mason jars, milk glass and mercury glass all the rage. We thought we would share a little Vintage Hawaiian wedding we were a part of. The bride and groom Alyson and Phil were a one of those dream couples to work with. We actually worked with her for over a year before the big day and the concept of course changed a few times but then we were all set for a "Vintage Plantation" wedding. This was held at the beautiful Olowalu Plantation House and shot by fabulous Joanna Tano (congrats on baby #2 to her!)
Once we heard the concept Jessica (the nuts and bolts of Bella Grace) and I began to brainstorm and the ideas we flowin'! We both loved the idea of incorporating vintage Hawaiian posters and well what you see below is the final product. Each vintage quartz tin had it's own postcard design on it. We love these kind of projects and if your interested in making some for your own big day shoot us an email and we would love to help!
Love & Aloha,
MG
